Life often feels like a series of challenges, and sometimes those challenges seem deeply personal—things we wouldn’t wish on anyone else. But what if God is using those very experiences, even the painful or lonely ones, to prepare you to bless someone else?
I grew up in a home where communication was scarce. It wasn’t easy to express what I felt or to understand others’ feelings. For a long time, I thought I had to carry this burden alone. But through my journey with God, He gave me the strength to move out, to find new spaces where I could breathe and grow. That journey wasn’t just about leaving a physical home; it was about finding freedom and healing in Him.
Now, my sister still lives in that home, and recently she asked me for advice—how to navigate the silence, the tension, the unspoken emotions that filled our childhood. Because I walked that path, because I am still walking it with God, I can gently guide her. But I don’t rely solely on my own wisdom. I ask the Lord, “How do You want me to help her?” This journey isn’t just mine; it’s God’s, and through it, He equips me to be a source of comfort and understanding.
This is the beautiful way God works: He uses our experiences, even the difficult ones, to prepare us to encourage others.
Maybe someone you know is having a bad day, overwhelmed by stress or worry. Even if you are struggling too, your testimony of God’s faithfulness can be a light in their darkness. You can speak words of hope and remind them that God loves them, that He cares deeply, and that He will help them through their trials.
The Bible reminds us in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV), “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
This passage shows us that the comfort we receive from God is not meant to stay with us alone—it’s meant to flow through us to others. Your life story—your struggles, your breakthroughs, your prayers—can become a powerful testimony that encourages, strengthens, and blesses someone else. God takes the “little things,” the everyday challenges and victories, and weaves them into a tapestry of grace and hope for others.
So, if you feel overwhelmed or alone today, remember this: God is not wasting your experiences. He is preparing you to be a source of His love to someone else, just as He has been for you. Trust Him, keep walking with Him, and watch how He uses your story for His glory.
As I write this, this one is ministering to me too.
