Be Still and Trust: A Prayer of Surrender to God’s Will

I miss the place that felt like home,

where time was soft,

and the air carried a kindness

that wrapped itself around me.

It was more than a dream—

it was a steady heartbeat in the noise,

a warmth I could step into

when the days grew too sharp.

Now the hours taste like steel,

and I crawl into weekends

only to patch the holes the week has torn.

Life spins,

but it’s not the dance I hoped for.

So, I whisper,

Take the wheel, Lord,

because my hands are tired

and my heart longs for stillness.

And I will remember

that You are God above the storms,

that You are the great I Am—

the One who fixes,

the One who makes every wrong right.

For Your glory,

and for the good You promised.

Even when things look bad,

they serve a purpose,

and fear is only the enemy’s trick

to keep me from standing close to You.

I will be still.

I will know.

I will trust.

For only You know the season we are in,

the lessons we must learn,

the triumphs we face,

and the in-between.

For only You are God,

and God alone.

You keep Your family safe—

You keep Your children safe—

especially those who lean on, rely on, and

trust in You.

So dear Lord,

I surrender once more to Your will,

to Your cause,

to Your purpose for my life.

To magnify You

is what I live for—
and only You.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.
