Gratitude plays a big part in how I take care of my mental health. It helps me manage anxiety and gently push back against depression. Here are today’s wins:
🎵 Commute & Kelly Clarkson
It took me an hour to get to work and an hour to get home—but the win? I got to enjoy more of Kelly Clarkson’s music. I’d slept on most of her catalogue for years, and now I’m catching up! And most importantly, I got to work safely and made it home safely. Thank you, Jesus.
☕ Apple Caramel Latte Moment
I grabbed an Apple Caramel Latte from the Vida-e in my building—and wow, it hit the spot! It’s like coffee meets apple and caramel syrup, topped with a mountain of foam. I added some collagen too. The last time I had it, they accidentally undercharged me (LOL), but full price or not, it’s totally worth it.
🐱 Velvet-Fur Welcome Committee
When I got home, my cat was waiting for me at the door—like she always does. And honestly, I never get tired of that moment. Her fur feels like velvet, and she’s full of spice and sass. She brings me so much joy.
🌧️ Peace on a Rainy Monday
Today was so peaceful. I know it’s Monday, and it was raining hard in Cape Town, so I’m sure people were grumbling. But me? I heard nothing. Just peace. When you let the Holy Spirit lead, that peace becomes a beautiful side effect. Thank you, Jesus.
📞 Family Call = Soul Food
I called my mom, and my sister and stepdad were home too. We laughed and laughed. I was reminded that it’s healthy—necessary, even—to get out of your own head sometimes.
